At Sands Beach Resort, we’re taking family fun holidays to a whole new level – one right below the surface of the swimming pool as Calipso Diving introduce young adventurers to the underwater wonders of diving.

Expertly supervised by the qualified instructors from Calipso and using full scuba diving suits and equipment, the Bubblemaker Programme teaches children aged 8 to 12 years how to use the breathing apparatus and experience the excitement of diving in a safe and fun environment. Using a series of games and obstacles, the young divers learn how to navigate underwater, how to use hand signals to communicate and naturally, how to use the mouthpiece to create those wonderful fountains of air bubbles.

Children are such fast and versatile learners and introducing them to the basics of diving at an early age can boost their confidence in the water and maybe even unlock a future passion. Apart from that, it’s great fun and they can go back home telling their school buddies all about it and with their own Certificate to prove it. That ‘what I did in my holidays‘ essay is practically guaranteed to blow all the others right out of the water!

The Bubblemaker Programme for 8-12 year olds costs €20 for one hour including use of all equipment and is bookable through Sands Beach Resort reception but places are limited so if your budding Jacques or Jacqueline Cousteau is keen to try, don’t wait too long before taking the plunge
