A summer must for the diaries for anyone visiting Sands Beach Resort this month is Friday 6th July when the historic and picturesque town of Teguise holds its Noche Blanca and everyone is invited.
Characterised by shops, museums, bars and restaurants staying open late into the hot, summer night, or more accurately the hot summer morning, Noche Blanca brings the town to life with a buzzing atmosphere and a packed agenda of activities. With the pretty streets filled with visitors, this was a very special night last year and promises to be even better in 2012.
Starting with indoor cycling and aerobics in Plazuela de Teguise and an exhibition of dancing and skating in Plaza de La Mareta at around 5pm, the evening will kick off with a tour of the historic old centre with Turismo de Teguise at 7pm before launching into a night of music, shopping, cinema and fun.
Amongst the night’s musical offerings will be the band of the Municipal School of Music and concerts by Alexis Lemes in the Plaza de los Leones and The Voices of Houston at the Santo Domingo Convent as well as bands performing in individual bars and restaurants right around the town.
Add to that the fact that the shops, bars and restaurants will be open until to around 4am, there’ll be films projected onto the walls in the streets, the Timple Museum and the Piracy Museum will both be open until the midnight hour and local taxis are offering special rates and you’ve got what promises to add up to a brilliant night.
Don’t miss it – 6th July, Teguise, 5pm onwards. Be there or regret it for a whole year until it comes around again
