Although we all love the tropical, sunny warmth of the Mai Tai Pool Bar and Restaurant and the friendly cosiness of La Hacienda we occasionally like a change of culinary scene and the opportunity to savour some of Costa Teguise’s other foodie favourites.
There are absolutely oodles of great restaurants and cafés in which to have a snack or to savour a special meal within a relatively short distance of Sands Beach Resort. Here are some of our top choices of places to eat in Costa Teguise.
Where to have a snack in Costa Teguise
For a coffee and a sinfully good cake it has to be the Gallic charms at Tentacion on Avda Islas Canarias. The selection of pastries will have you dancing the Can-Can and one bite is enough to have customers sighing ‘ooh la la.’
Alternatively if it’s a savoury sensation you prefer, head across to BrowN at C.C. Calipso. This mix of deli and bakery does wonderfully imaginative salads, yummy pies, quiches and dips – all home-made.
Where to eat tapas in Costa Teguise
Tapas fans are spoiled for choice in Costa Teguise. Casa Felix at Playa Bastián is a bit of a trek but his Canarian styled tapas like sweet potato chips and churros de pescado (fish in batter) make any visit worth the walk. Closer to Sands Beach Resort is the Basque tapas shrine of Kerman La Pikada on Avda Islas Canarias. With around thirty different tapas dishes to try, it’ll take quite a few return visits to get round them all. For a really authentic Northern Spanish tapas experience wash them down with some Asturian cider.
Where to enjoy a delicious dinner in Costa Teguise
Spoil yourself with a visit to Montmarte on Avda de las Palmeras for the finest in French cuisine. It has all those quintessential French favourites such as frogs’ legs and snails but if you aren’t feeling adventurous there are plenty of other richly delicious offerings including seafood pancake au gratin and chicken Montmarte, one of the restaurant’s signature dishes.
For those who fancy going Spanish, La Peskera at Playa Windsurf is ideally placed for a gentle sunset stroll from Sands Beach Resort. As well as being dreamily romantic, it’s also a good choice for families; the playful chefs create bunny shaped pizzas to delight younger members of the family. The food looks and tastes divine and you have just got to try their competition-winning tapas of banana, goats’ cheese, bacon and figs encased in batter.
These are only some of our favourite places to eat in Costa Teguise, there are many, many more inviting restaurants and chic cafés all around the resort. And if anyone’s feeling guilty after indulging in all that delicious food on offer, the beautiful promenade in Costa Teguise is perfect for walking off the pounds.
