Duathlon in Lanzarote

The Costa Teguise Annual Spring Duathlon took place for the second year running this last Saturday the 17th of April at 1000 AM. This was a Canary Island Triathlon Federation sanctioned event, co-sponsored by Sands Beach Beachfront Resort, Costa Teguise Triathlon Club, Tribike, the Anyutamiento of Teguise and Las Marinas Club Resort. The race was a two discipline event consisting of a 5km run followed by a 20km bike ride and then finished up with a final 2.5Km run/sprint to the finish line.
The event was limited to 100 competitors and was another field filled with top talent, including visiting pros and the best local athletes from around the island. Sands Beach’s very own Juan Carlos Albuixech and Robin Brinkman worked their way through the field and Buddy was on hand cheering everyone on and sporting his new digs.
All in all it was another great event and we’re already training for next year!
