Costa de Musicas launched at Sands Beach Resort

It’s that time of year again, when Costa Teguise sways to a musical beat, the 4th annual music festival of Costa de Musicas will take place on and around Playa Bastian on Friday 25 September and Saturday 26  September. It’s an event enjoyed by families and people of all ages, so where better to hold the official press launch than Sands Beach  Resort Hotel.

Media outlets from Lanzarote and the Spanish mainland gathered at our beachfront hotel to hear about the feast of music and dancing. During both days there will be DJ’s and live radio broadcasts in Pueblo Marinero from 3 pm to 8 pm, just to get you limbered up. Then at night, live music will hit the stage, Friday includes Zurych, La Excepcion and Mamba Beat, and Saturday is led by Kokolo Afro Beat Orchestra, La Selva Sur and Mo Horizons.

It’s all FREE and great fun, just bring your dancing feet and your sense of fun, Costa Teguise will show you how to throw a great party.

Sands Beach Resort Hotel has fans across Europe

Lanzarote is famous for its great family resorts at Costa Teguise, as well as the more rugged coast that attracts sports fans from all over Europe. One visitor that really tested our facilities was Birte Christiansen, studying Tourism Management in Germany. Birte took a 6 month internship in Lanzarote studying with Water Sports Centres Lanzarote, and for 3 months she lived at Sands Beach Resort Hotel in an apartment beside Plaza Verde, one of 6 pool side plazas.

No-one could accuse Birte of taking it easy, she tried all the sports facilities that Sands Beach Resort Hotel and Costa Teguise have to offer, and as you will see from her blog site, they all came through with flying colours.   Hopefully our informal, helpful and professional management style will have given Birte some good ideas for when she eventually embarks on a career in the tourism industry. Come and visit us soon and see how we can look after all your holiday needs at our beachfront family hotel.

President says “Everyone should go to Lanzarote”

If you want a recommendation, you can’t get better than the top man, Spain’s President Zapatero has just returned to Madrid after a relaxing family holiday in Lanzarote, and he is keen to spread the word and encourage other visitors.

The President is a frequent visitor to Lanzarote, staying in his official residence, La Moreta in Costa Teguise, this year he took time out to record a personal endorsement for a Lanzarote tourist board video. Looking relaxed and chilled out in a casual shirt with top buttons undone, he said “Lanzarote is all about nature, life, rest and the friendliness of the people.”

As if that wasn’t enough to show his pleasure at being in Costa Teguise, he added “Of course anyone who can come, should come to Lanzarote.” The President, like most visitors, has been enchanted by the rugged beauty and serenity of this family friendly island with so much sun and beaches to offer.
